KOTA BARU: The National Service (NS) Training Department will introduce an improved physical module for NS trainees starting January next year, said its director-general Datuk Abdul Hadi Awang Kechil.
He said the sports science-based module would include commercial elements which participants can benefit from after the training ends.
"We have asked the Sultan Idris University of Education (UPSI) to come up with the improved module.
"UPSI will publish a guide book on the new module for trainees and trainers, and we expect to implement the module by January 2011," he told reporters here Tuesday.
Abdul Hadi said the new module would not do away with the existing one which offers activities such as shooting, marching, water activities and other extreme sports, and would also be upgraded from time to time.
